OHIM About the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM)
The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) is responsible for the registration of Community trade marks and Community designs. The Community trade mark and Community design offer gateways to the single European market comprising 25 states and spanning a market of more than 450 million consumers.
The unitary nature of both systems means that formalities and management can be kept simple: a single application in a single language, a single administrative center and a single file to be managed. One uniform law applies to trade marks and designs, hereby providing strong and unique protection throughout the European Union.

Thanks to harmonious teamwork by the EPO's 5,500 staff from over 35 countries, applicants are scarcely aware of the complexity of the task which the Office performs.
